Introduction
Maharshi Atri is one of the earliest and most revered sages of Sanatan tradition. He is counted among the Saptarshi, the seven great Rishis entrusted with preserving Vedic knowledge during the creation of the universe.
Origin and Lineage
Maharshi Atri is a Manasputra (mind-born son) of Lord Brahma.
His wife, Anasuya, is celebrated as one of the greatest pativrata women in Hindu scriptures.
Their ashram was a center of tapasya and dharma.

Through intense penance, Maharshi Atri pleased the Trimurti — Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva.
